For many years Mars has supported various sports and exercise programmes in various countries and itself initiated programmes to redress the balance between nutrition and exercise. Here are two examples from Austria.
M&M's® MKick
"Kick-off to fun": here everything revolved around the MBall. The MKick balls are shaped like M&M's® Peanuts, which makes their trajectory unpredictable. Playing with them is lots of fun. In the spring of 2010, M&M's® distributed tens of thousands of these balls throughout Austria, and more than a million all over Europe. Special MKick tournaments with hundreds of participants were held in the Austrian cities of Vienna, Graz, Salzburg and Villach, moderated by the legendary former soccer pro, Toni Polster. And of course there was also a special activity for Mars Austria associates.
SNICKERS® No Limit Sports Competition
SNICKERS® invites Austrian athletes to compete for a sponsorship by entering a photograph or a video spot on http://www.snickers.at/: 10,000 euros for the best team, 5,000 for the best individual athlete, and 2,000 for the most original application. In 2009, the first year, there were a total of 723 applications in countless disciplines, from cycling to rugby, from charity runs to handicapped sports. The ten best applications for the final event in a popular Vienna open air discotheque were selected by online voting. With 4.3 million votes it was the most successful SNICKERS® activity ever - which naturally is to be continued.
